Surplus School Sites in Ward sipiwiyiniwak

PUBLIC HEARINGS HAVE BEEN SCHEDULED

The City of Edmonton has tentatively scheduled public hearings for the rezoning of the surplus school sites for OCTOBER 21, 2024.

This is your chance to speak directly with Council.

Earlier this summer, I held virtual information sessions for the Ward sipiwiyiniwak communities of Wedgewood and Lymburn to share important details on the upcoming rezoning of the surplus school sites in both neighbourhoods.

Recordings of both information sessions can be found here:

Ward sipiwiyiniwak is located on Treaty 6 Territory and within the Métis homelands and Métis Nation of Alberta Region 4. We acknowledge this land as the traditional territories, traditional meeting grounds, gathering places and travelling routes of many First Nations such as the Nehiyaw (Cree), Denesuliné (Dene), Nakota Sioux (Stoney), Anishinabae (Saulteaux) and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Métis, and Inuit peoples. It is a welcoming place for all peoples from around the world to share Edmonton as a home.
